A long 5 board operates the 06:41 ex Guisborough M-F Service 28 - arriving in Middlesbrough at 07:40 and departing as a 5 to Whitby at 07:45. In comparison, the 06:48 Service 5 from Brotton Green Tree is a Redcar 63 board, arriving at the same time as the bus above in Middlesbrough (07:40). The reason for this is for driving time regulations - a single driver from SN could not complete the light trip to Brotton, back to Middlesbrough and a full Whitby and back without going over his/her hours. The evening 5b journeys are operated by a vehicles off X1 and 28 boards. You may see some changes to what is detailed as lots of these duties have their breaks at SN depot. Resulting in a selected vehicle being taken back out - rather than the allocated one! But the boards are the same as detailed above |
