One thing that is true, they are apparently buying the Enviro200s that Avon Buses has for sale! Just like your employer they are owned by the council and have to justify their existence - if they were not making money and were costing the tax payer any money at all they would have been sold off along time ago. It depends how it is done. Plus, if what people have previously said is true and Merseytravel tenders are keeping them going, they wouldn't be a burden until they lost the contracts.
