RE: Northern (Arriva Rail North) - mikestone - 25/10/2019 13:09 319365 reported en route to Long Marston. RE: Northern (Arriva Rail North) - St Helens Rider - 25/10/2019 14:20 Surprised about 319365 going back as that was one of the original batch when services out of Liverpool were first wired. Logically it was going to be the ones that had the old Northern purple interiors, not the ones the current franchise 'refurbished.' I think they are just getting rid of the one’s that have spent most time in the maintenance facility tbh! RE: Northern (Arriva Rail North) - ant17612 - 26/10/2019 16:09 142009, 142015, 142016, 142025, 142037, 142038, 142050, 142052, 142064, 142066, 142088, 142093 and 142096 have been placed into active store. RE: Northern (Arriva Rail North) - Metroline1511 - 26/10/2019 19:36 I rode my first 195 today, 195 110. As usual for modern rolling stock, it had ironing board seating. While the ride itself was reasonably smooth, I was shocked when a few tables down some water seaped through the roof! Not what we would expect from modern rolling stock. The 16.44 from WMQ to MCV - within the Chester - Leeds service - was cancelled. The next TfW train to MIA was so late that I waited for the next MCV train. I had my magazines to keep me busy anyway. Besides, for personal reasons I can think of worse places to be on October 26th than Warrington. Arent the 319s supposed to be leaving now that the 323s are staying? Yes the intention is for Northern to not retain any 319s but the plan is still for 8 x 769s to be introduced. The latest on that is they will run Alderley Edge to Southport and Wigan to Stalybridge services by no later than May 2020. As usual for modern rolling stock, it had ironing board seating. You might recall Northern did a 'seats roadshow' where they asked customers for feedback on seating options and they put a standard 'ironing board' seat against two alternative seats with the 'ironing board' seat proved the least popular. Northern then decided to use a modified 'ironing board' seat (the same type as Scotrail have used) with slightly more padding. They claim some customers told them they liked the ironing board seat because of the extra leg room, even though there was no indication of how much leg room each seat type would allow at the seats roadshow, so that feedback was probably from a relatively small number of rail enthusiasts - unless customers commented on leg room because of how bad it is on 142s or 150s, in which case Northern should be taking that in to consideration when refurbishing 150s.
