158789 has return north to Haymarket depot following attention at Neville Hill, it now carries the dark blue 'base' livery as sported by sister 158786, albeit without the half length white stripe at cantrail level. The next candidate for the new 'Scotrail' livery perhaps?

Long time absentee and having never worked for Scotrail, 158868 has been noted inside the shed at Edinburgh Haymarket undergoing attention which will hopefully see it return to traffic.

This new saltaire livery will look good only if it is standard through all the classes without any modifications , once you start modifying the livery it will loose its look.

Evening... is there a planned maintenance schedule during which time the Caledonian Sleepers could receive the saltire livery? Longer term or perhaps over the winter?

Well Caledonian Sleeper isn't financially assisted so I don't think they will get it

Give me the money and I'll operate the service

i suspect the class 90s may see the livery, but as rolling stock should life expire in 3-4 years, i think the sleeper is coming to an end of an age. i still use it 2/3 times a month when i go up to Thurso to get my ferry to the islands... fantastic train, but it is extremely expensive to run, and some days there may only be 10 people using it per section (highland sleeper).
a sleeper probably needs to be longer, e.g. penzance-edinburgh or thurso-birmingham/euston or something. most journeys are easily done on cheaper day services, except far north stuff to malliag/wick/thurso/kyle of lochalsh.
i love scotrail actually, they are a fantastic operator!!!

Sleepers are useful for long run to the Highland towns of Fort William and Inverness and save a wasted day on the road or rail.

Lets hope that EWS make more use of their fleet. Two of them 90021 and 90024 are in Scotrail livery for use on the sleeper trains. However they do seem to be regulars on the Garston to Dagenham car teains were I have noted both of them recently.
